La Cantina

La Cantina is one of three beautiful self contained properties at Casa San Gabriel.  Set in the hills overlooking a beautiful Umbrian Valley, with uninterrupted views as far as Assisi, Casa San Gabriel is a collection of 4 farmhouses dating back to the 16th Century. Lovingly restored by the present owners, the houses feature original beams, terracotta tiles and the latest technology giving ultimate comfort. It's position set among 3 acres of its own land and surrounded by olive groves and wooded hillsides, gives guests the utmost peace and tranquillity to relax and unwind and the opportunity to walk in the beautiful Umbrian countryside.

There is accommodation for 10 in 3 totally independent cottages, all with private terraces, fully equipped kitchen, sitting / dinning room, central heating and bathroom with shower. The main house offers a communal room with internet access, well stocked library including books, guidebooks and dvds. Guests can enjoy the 14.5m in-ground pool, a wood-burning pizza oven and herb garden.

La Cantina is suitable for a couple or a small family. The lower level consists of a fully equipped kitchen and sitting/dinning area with a double sofa bed (orthapedic) and leads onto a private terrace. Glass enclosed, original external stairs take you to the top level, with a landing that leads onto a double bedroom and a separate bathroom with shower.

The cottage has recently been restored using all original and local materials, including chestnut beams and terracotta tiles, and furnished to the highest standard. The terrace and bedroom have wonderful views down into the valley and provide you with the opportunity to finish the evening with a glass of wine and the beauty of Umbria in sight.

Location

The property is located only 5 minutes drive from the main road of the E45, but 1.5ksm on a white road, which means that it is secluded but by no means remote with the nearby village of Pierantonio only 5 mins driveand the local market town of Umbertide only 10 mins drive.

Casa San Gabriel is located on the Tuscan / Umbrian border and is therefore ideally situated to explore Tuscany, Umbria and Le Marche, with Perugia, Assisi, Cortona and Lake Trasimeno all within 30 minutes drive.
