Cenac House

The beautiful 17th century stone house offers three bedrooms and is located in a quiet street of the charming village of Cenac et St Julien. The house provides you with a stunning view of the village and surrounding valley out of the main bedroom windows.

The second bedroom has its own entrance; the downstairs also has its own entrance and twin single beds and toilet. There is a pull out sofa bed in the lounge room for those unexpected guests, bathroom with toilet and shower, lounge, dining room and full kitchen. Downstairs is the laundry with a washing machine and dryer another toilet and fully lock up garage.

You can enjoy a wine on the terrace overlooking the village and beyond. Hot air balloons fly over in the late evening, which makes for a great photo and absailers use the adjacent valley for their sporting pleasure.

The house has been fully equipped to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay with everything you need at your fingertips. The modern kitchen provides a fridge, freezer, blender, coffee maker (and coffee plunger), microwave, oven and toaster. Satellite English TV and a DVD player (with a range of DVDs for you to enjoy) are also provided. A lock up garage ensures easy and safe car parking during your stay. Those families with young children will appreciate the pram and range of children's toys also provided. All linen is provided.

Cenac et St Julien means you are well positioned for exploring the chief sights of the Dordogne valley, with its amazing castles, Chateaux, prehistoric sites, museums, historical sites, stunning gardens, wine tasting and breathtaking views all within a 5 mile drive. This picturesque village is at the bottom of the hill from the medieval village of Domme which is well know as a walled, 3 flowered bastide village, with panoramic views across the valley.

With the river a few minutes walk one way and the local supermarket and restaurants the other way, this property is in the ideal position to spend as little or as much time as you like exploring this wonderful area.

Rental Rates

(Prices quoted in Australian dollars)

  • $1200 per week for up to 4 people.
  • For more than 4 people (up to a maximum of 8) an additional $100 p/w is payable. 

Location

With Paris only a 6 hour (580km) drive north, Bordeaux a 2 hour drive west and Toulouse a 2 hour drive south, Cenac et St Julien is well positioned to set up base and spend a bit of time exploring South of France. The autoroute junction heading North and South is just north of Soulillac only 30 minutes away and Bergerac Airport is just over an hours drive.

Cenac village has two bakeries a butcher, cave (wine & cheese shop), fresh fruit and veggie shop, hairdresser, dentist, doctor, chemist, florist, pizza/chicken shop, laundry mat, newsagent, post office and a cake and sweets shop. So a quick stroll every morning will get you your fresh croissants and baguettes, meat, fruit, vegetables and treats for the day ahead.
